Hi all,
This is the Samurai model in Aka Tamenuri finish. The Tamenuri is lighter, allowing more red throughout the translucid layers.
Nice day all

Very pretty! Can you share how you preserve the brightness of the red coloration? My red urushi (Kijome/Vermillion) darkens a great deal in the furo, even at relatively low humidity (65%) and temperature to slow down the during process. Any advice?

Actually this is darker due to translucent layers to provide a Tamenuri finish.
Depends also of the Urushi type and pigment, mine it's a long dry urushi, it needs to stay in furo longer even 3 days if necessary.
You can also put it under the sun to light it up.
If you add also syuai with will get darker so you need to see what mix it gets it perfect, it's a matter of practice.

Beautiful finish and color, Teodor. Urushi is hard to master for most and you progressed very well, and quickly. Something tells me that you have had experience with different kinds of finish and paints before you started with urushi.

Thank you. Urushi is hard to master, the beginning is quite difficult, but if you fail often you learn enough to progress till the next challenge. l didn't had any experience in the past on the pen making or any sort of painting, I just enjoy doing it.
