I had watched a few videos of folks turning salt and pepper shakers without at sort of kit and added it to my "to do list" But I found these PSI kits for $1 each so I had to get them.
The beautifully figured walnut came from my local lumberyard's drop bin, also for $1. A sizable piece for a buck, I was able to cut a good length of 2 inch spindle blanks

Very nice and a great price. I love walnut. I am going to check PSI now.
My wife wants new salt and pepper shakers. We have been using a pair of grinders for about 15 years and the salt grinder gave up the ghost. I think we are going with shakers this time. We will grind the pepper fresh when we fill it.
