Maple salt and pepper shakers.

The burn was done at 600 RPM using a piece of .032" safety wire. I was amazed with myself that they are so nearly identical. I'm really bad at turning things as matched pairs. lol

Nicely done! The burn line is a great way to disguise the seam, too!

There's no seams. They're not grinders. They're just shakers. I had the maple sitting on the shelf and wanted to do something with it. Since I was short on funds, I went with shakers over grinders.

Grinders are coming, though, for sure!

Thanks, everyone, for the compliments. Be sure to watch for more when I return from deployment. I'll be burning about 45 days of leave between February and May, so I should be able to spend plenty of time at my lathe!

I can't wait to get home and do more of these, and to do some grinders.

When retirement gets here in 714 days (not that I'm counting), I hope to be able to do a lot of these!
