On April 2nd, 2025, I lost my dear friend and mentor, Stephen. Though it's been years since we last met, his passing has left a void that words can hardly describe.
Stephen was more than just a friend-he was the guiding force behind my journey into pen making. He patiently mentored me, sharing his knowledge and experience, and literally guided my every step as I learned the craft. Every pen I make today carries his influence; his wisdom is present in every detail and every decision I make at the workbench.
I am deeply ashamed that I didn't reach out to him sooner. Life, as it often does, got in the way, and I let too much time pass without reconnecting. Now, I wish I had told him just how much his mentorship meant to me, how grateful I am for his guidance, and how much I valued our friendship.
Even though I didn't get to say these things in person, I hope Stephen knew how much he shaped my life and my craft. His legacy lives on in the work I do and in the passion for pen making that he helped ignite within me. I will always remember him not just as a skilled craftsman, but as a generous, patient, and inspiring mentor.
Rest in peace, Stephen. Thank you for everything. I will carry your lessons and your spirit with me always.
