Hi Everybody!
We buried my Dad yesterday. He had said he didn't want anything too elaborate, so I can't help but think he had something to do with the raging snowstorm that kept the graveside service short and sweet. He was buried with full military honors, and after the gun salute, we all wept through the playing of Taps. A sad day, but a good day!
And here's the question. I was given the spent shell casings from the gun salute. I am thinking that it would be nice to make pens from them. Casing pens are really not my thing, and I have never learned to make them, and I am not really in the mood to learn now. Who among us would be interested in a commission from my family to make 21 pens from these spent casings? I think they are .308 military brass, but since I don't shoot that cartridge myself, I'm not really sure.
Thanks for being there, my Friends.
Scott.
