Figured I might as well go hog wild with my Ryobi project and inquire if anyone has made, developed, heard about, or thought about how to make a zero clearance table insert for the Ryobi 903 band saw.
This one will take some ingenuity and creativity but I figure I'm on the right site to get the job done !!!

Look in the penturning forum under a thread called "Using the bandsaw in penmaking" (or something like that) and you'll either find what you want or someone to talk to about it. I just saw it yesterday although I don't think it was brand specific.

Thank you gentlemen. I know this is a tough one, especially IF it doesn't really exist. Then again, who knows. Maybe someone from Ryobi is a member and just might get the brainstorm to suggest production of the insert ???

For the older version the only one that I ever found was the standard and that had the large square hole in it. I tried making one and decided that the sled type cutting platform was the less labor intensive way to go!
Since the one for the 901 is a little square thingie, with two little fingers on two of the sides to hold it in place.
I tried with double sided tape, but there wasn't wide enough meat sides in table top for grip .
The sliding cutting sled that is attached to the miter gage for me worked much better.

I just found something that's "out of the box" . . ., sort of. Instead of just the insert, cover the entire table with thin masonite/pressboard, or even cardboard. Cut into it as needed and attact to saw base with double sided tape or whatever. Sounds like it should work if there is no issue getting it under the fence. I guess you could always simply put it along side the fence.
