I just set up a brand new Ryobi band saw model # BS903.
I think there may be an issue with the motor. However, this is my first band saw so I may be missing something as well.
The motor will turn on, but it will not spin. I pulled the bottom wheel off the band saw, and tried to hand-turn the gear knob coming out of the motor. I can get about a 1/4 turn and it tightens up way too much. I can continue to spin it all the way around, but with a lot of force.
I put the wheel back on, and placed it at a spot where the gear knob was "free" and turned it on. The motor would spin again that 1/4 turn and completely lock up.
Is there something wrong with the motor and I need to return it, or is there a way I should be making an adjustment and the owners manual just doesn't go that far into detail.
Everything else I have set up 100% according to instructions.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
