I have been sick for several months and am just getting to go back
to my shop to play a little. I found all of my router bits and
my dremal accessories are rusted. Looking for opinios of how to clean.
The only way I know is wire brush, steel wool, and WD40.
Thanks
Ron

The Evapo-rust will work, If you have a harbor freight they carry it. With they 20% off coupon it works very well!

This stuff is very good. Once you have used it then keep things lightly oiled. I keep those little packets that come in medications, foods, etc and put them in my tool box drawers. It has helped eliminate rust and moisture. You can also buy those crystals which dehumidify at lots of places.

That's a great Idea using the desiccant from medicine jars. I'll have to give that a try.

You can also get EVAPO-RUST at lowes.

Many-Many Thanks

I so appreciate the knowledge that is so freely given to
help each other in this forum. I have used many rust products
but none that even comes close to the product Evapa-rust
that was recommended here. It really worked great. Overnite
all of the rust was gone!
Again Thanks
Ron

Evapo-rust is good. If it is just light rust, try soaking in vinegar for an hour, the brushing with a nylon or brass wire brush.

Dry well and oil.

Now that the rust is gone I would recommend that you find out the source of moisture and also regularly clean and wax your tools. I monthly clean and wax the beds of my lathe, bandsaw, and drill press. It keeps everything rust free. I also use a small piece of tarp on my lathe when I wet sand and it doesn't get rusty.
