Russian Olivewood Duck Call

Here is another piece of fine wood from Hunter27. This is a Louisiana style duck call. I bought the polished brass band, tone board and reeds from THO Game Calls, they have alot of nice stuff over there.
If you look real close on the second pic the wood grain makes the the outline of a ducks head. Thats got to make it more expensive.....right!??

Can't say I see the duck. But very fine calls. Olive wood is nearly an ideal wood for calls. Dense and moisture resistant. I would guess it has a good tone also.

Nice one, I am about to make a goose call with a purple heart barrel and ebony stopper. I have it turned round so far, need to be drilled and profile turned. Never thought about olive wood, going to have to try that. Carl
