Russ Fairfield's DVD

I received Russ Fairfields DVD yesterday and just had a chance to sit back and watch it. Now if anyone has any questions about the assortment of finishes out on the market and how to apply them this is a MUST have DVD to add to your collection (that is if you have a collection). Russ goes into great detail explaining, and most importantly showing first hand how to apply everything from shellac and home made friction polishes to CA finishing with and without BLO to dipping and spraying Deft laquer. There is a very interesting segment on applying Enduro also.

I mainly spray Deft but seeing how he did his CA and Enduro finish encourages me to have another go at them.

Anyone having problems with their finish and finishing techniques WILL learn or pick up a bit of information that you never thought to try.

I'm in no way affiliated with Russ nor is he my long lost uncle or cousin but I just wanted to let other penturners know that his video has a wealth of information and for the cost of four or five pen kits is well worth the investment.

Ditto that! The DVD was excellent. His instructions on each technique were easy to understand, and being able to view the process (instead of just read) helped me tremendously.

I have to add my BZ to Russ for the video. The only thing better would be to actually be able to physically watch and inundate him (or any of the other masters on this site) with questions. Thanks Russ.

I got my DVD yesterday. Very informative and complete. Anyone into penturning can save a lot of time and money experimenting by watching it. After seeing someone apply the CA finish, I'm not so worried about gluing pens to my fingers and will give it a try.

I received my DVD 3 weeks ago and the $30.00 was money well spent. This has already helped my CA finish and it was nice to see what other options I can try. []
