We live on 25 acres and our house garden is 1 acre.

All year round we have a lot of bird life, lots of parrots, such as Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Corellas and these beautiful birds, the Eastern Rosella.

As it is spring the weeds are getting out of hand a bit and this one was quite close to our lounge room window this afternoon.

Canon 450D, 55-250 zoom, handheld through the glass.

Thought it would make a change from showing pen photos:biggrin:

what a colorful bird..thanks for sharing..we are heading for -40,-50 F , snow up to a giraffe's ears, and plenty of blizzards..nice to know someone is sliding toward summer

Nice one Fred,

We have a pair that have been langing on our house fence recently. Must be mating season, or they're after the guinea pig feed.

This is not really a comment on your photo, but like pens, these birds look so much better in person than the lens captures. They have a positive glow about them when the sun is shining on them. I just sit and watch them till the dogs discover them and chase them away :(

Russell.
