Mention of the Rockler Long Top, which is also the PSI Long Wood, in another thread motivated me to give it a try...with a slimline kit. $2 vs $5. I've been wanting to try this for some time now so the other thread motivated me to do so. It was fun to do. Enjoy or ignore. Thanks for looking.

Interesting, and it looks good. Did you just use a longer tube or did you need to modify something?

Thanks Tim. The lower tube is one to the kit tubes but the blank is only about 1" long. The upper blanks can be as long as one wants but the upper tube will be long also, but not as long as the blank. The center band has to be reamed to fit over the exposed part of the lower tube. Basically, it is the same as the pen in this article but the upper barrel is one piece of wood.
