I've been thinking about ordering this Dust Right Expandable Hose from Rockler. Anyone have any experience using it or any comments in general.

I like vacuuming the garage floor with the dust collector and this hose looks like it could be nice for that purpose. The stiff black hose I currently have isn't very flexible and is somewhat awkward to drag around the garage.

Thanks for the input guys.

Dave,

I have it. It is great for that use. I wish it would get just a few feet longer. It doesn't quite cover my full 2-car garage. But then I'm going corner to corner; if I could put it in the middle of one side it would reach just fine.

But don't buy their Dust Right Master system. It sucks, and not in a good way. It converts the 4" hose to a 4-1/2" or so and you then have to buy their adapters for each machine to hook up to it. And my handle split in half at the seam: bad glue joint. And the tube falls out of the handle. Generally, it just is crap.

I've got the 4" Expandable hose and love it (wow, that can really be read a couple of different ways...). I don't use my DC to clean the floor but the hose lets me leave the DC in one spot and access my table saw, drill press, belt sander, router table, and lathe. I have the Dust Right handle and related port on my table saw, router table, and belt sander so hook-up is easy. I clamp the handle to my lathe and use it without any other fitting for now.

I just purchased it last month. Haven't used it much but so far I like it better than the black hose that is a lot more flexible. I don't vacuum my floor with the dust collector anymore. Picked up too many nails and screws that I didn't like listening to going through my impellers. I leave my dust collector in one spot, and move the hose to each machine as I use it. works great for that in my small shop.
