Here is one of George's BEAUTIFUL banksia pod blanks on a PSI Victorian Antique Brass pen kits. If you turn these as described by George, they are very nice but time consuming. BUT they are well worth the effort as you can kind of see with my poor photo taking abilities. Please forgive all of the pics but couldn't resist. This pen was given to my daughter-in-laws mother for her birthday on Easter. I thought it was great how it looks like it has bunny ears in places. If you like them, thank George. All I did was make it round. Painted both the inside of the blank and the tubes light brown with Testors Model paint.
All comments and critiques welcome. Just overlook the poor photograpy skills if you can.
Thanks.

Excellent turning for short and challenging material. Well done on both turning and blanks! Collaboration is awesome!

Well mate, you done a lot more than just round it but, you followed my guidelines/suggestions and the result is obvious.

This blank is not an exception to many other blanks out there that require some, patience, gentle handling and some finesse, they all show its potential when done right so, they are great to test the self confidence of one's ability to follow simple rules.

These last #45xx are the fifth generation of all Banksia hairy pod blanks that I created, years of experimenting and improving, I can't say that one day, will come up with a different way to use the pod but, I'm in no hurry to try something else, I'm a strong believer of an old saying used often here in Australia and it goes like this, "If ain't broken, don't try to fix it...!"

You are all the right in the world to be super excited about your work, you created a beautiful writing instrument that will turn heads anywhere you show it, the kit selection was exceptional and one that I don't recall to be seeing before.

Your workmanship is flawless and I can honestly say that, you definitely did the blank justice, and I thank you for that...!

So now that you dot this one under your sleeve, lets see a few more done...!:biggrin:

Cheers
George

Thanks George. Without your efforts and instructions, these beautiful blanks would not be possible. Your efforts show in the final product. Thanks again and there will be more. Just need to figure out another good pen kit for them. This ain't no slimline blank to me.
