When making curved sided large bowls as shown yesterday there are always some smaller left over discs of wood so I like to cut them into rings and make something like this with them . It is something to do while waiting for the glue to dry in the original one and leaves no pieces of boards being wasted. .
Wouldn't it be wonderful if all the shavings that get hogged out of a large solid block of wood turning (both inside and outside) could be saved and made into something like this . I know there are expensive coring systems that very few have but shapes of the bowls cut out with it are quite limited .
This one is 4-3/4" diameter and 3-1/2" tall .
