Where can I buy a #2mt dead center in MI? I would rather not buy one online, and I don't want to kill one myself!

I want to say LandfillLumber sold them at one time in the classifieds.

Grizzly has them in HSS and carbide tipped (I know you don't want to buy online, but they have a catalogue too.)

If woodcraft has them the store can order in for you. I got mine from pen turners ol.

Check your yellow pages for machine shop supplies or industrial supplies.

There should be some handy in your area if there is any machining or manufacturing industry anywhere near you.

Or you could always just call or stop by a small machine shop and ask them where to go to buy one.

FWIW you could have had one shipped to you by the end of this week, probably for less then you'll find it locally.

Since you are asking for purchasing one without having to order online, as others have said - local machine shops or tool places, or Woodcraft or Rockler. I have never seen a 2 MT dead center at HF as mentioned above (and they don't list them online).

My experience on machine parts and stores - is that they generally are quite a bit higher than ordering. One of the cheapest is Grizzly but they charge too much for shipping for small items.
