My second Retro Rollerball pen from Rockler. The blank is a blue/mallee burl Hybridz blank, also from Rockler. This is my fifth or sixth Hybridz blank, and I wasn't disappointed. I really, really like the looks of this pen and blank combination. I dry sanded it up to 3000 grit, and used Pens Plus on it.

One odd thing about the Retro kit is the tube sizes. The lower tube is 27/64", which is unusual, but not a problem. But the upper tube is 1/2". I was hoping my 12.5mm drill bit and barrel trimmer would fit it, but to no avail. I had to chase the hole with a 1/2" bit. And the trimmer pilot was a little loose. I tried a wrap of electrical tape on the first one, and scotch tape on the second. They both turned into a gooey mess, but it worked out in the end. Why Rockler chose the unusual 1/2" size, I have no idea.

I have done a couple of these and really liked them. I agree that the tube size seemed a bit weird and caught me off guard. Yours are very nice!
