Well, Today was my Retirement Ceremony bringing an end to a 30 year career in the Coast Guard. It was great that Jasontg99 was able to attend the ceremony (He stuck out as the only one from the Navy in a sea of Coasties).

The Ceremony went very well and I am going to take advantage of a few weeks of well deserved rest before I start job hunting. Hopefully I will have a job lined up by the middle of May.

I was piped over the side after 26 years in the Navy in '88. I know the feeling and it is a good one. A job will come along soon; many employers are looking for leadership skills developed in the military services.

Thanks for your service.

From a Coastie Dad, congratulations and thank you for 30 years of your life.
Any pictures from the ceremony you could share?
Enjoy your retirement,. I know I'm enjoying mine.

Thanks for all those years of service. Hope you enjoy you're retirement as much as I enjoy mine. And "do" have lots of fun in this addiction.

Thank you for your part in making my life safer, for my being able to sleep at night knowing people like you were watching. I pray that God continues to bless you
and you have a great transition to civilian life.

Congrats Dave! Sorry I couldn't make it. Work is busy right now and there is no way I could get out.

Sort of ironic though.....I just told my boss two days ago that I was retiring and submitted my paperwork yesterday....

Hope your job hunting goes well! Call if you have questions. I don't know what training the Coast Guard gives you but we go through transition courses that do a fair job of prepping you.

Good Luck! Now you have to grow up! LOL!!

Congratulations on retirement from a 13 year Marine. Only 17 more to go! Thanks for your service and giving us young'uns something to strive for.

Good Job well done. Thank you for serving so long. I was Navy (in the days of wooden ships and iron men) but my eldest son was Coast Guard, which makes me appreciate your service even more.
