I just finished this little birthday gift for a coworker. This is my first twig pot ever. I could have done better with the shape but had an oops moment and made a drastic design modification. Not exactly sure yet about what artificial flowers I'll use, but I thought they made the pic look better. I cast the blank with Silmar 41 and mica powders. I wasn't too keen on parting it off and finishing the bottom by hand, so I chucked the blank, turned the top, then drilled & threaded a hole for my bottle stopper mandrel. Sanded & polished the top, threaded it in the mandrel then into my collet chuck and finished the rest as I would a bottle stopper. It worked out well, with no mark from the mandrel. In spite of the less than perfect shape, I'm quite happy with it and plan on making more to give as gifts.
