Good method to explain teeth in the wood. As a general rule I've found (well, really the blade maker told me) that 4 TPi works for wood up to about 6", more than that you have to drop down to 3 TPI. (Assuming a 14" BS with a riser.)
But that is only one reason for drift. Most drift can be compensated for by adjusting the blade on the wheels.
If the blade is too far forward the board will drift to the right (saw kerf goes right to left) and if it is too far back the board will drift to the left (saw kerf goes from upper left to lower right).
