I recently purchased a bunch of 3x3 turning wood, I need to remove the wax on the sides to let it dry and acclimate. I usually scrap the wax off and I really dislike doing it. I was hoping someone was smarter than I and had a good way to remove the wax.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I either slice it off on my table saw, run it over the jointer or through the planer. Board/block size tends to dictate the best tool for the job.

If the wood is a species that's prone to cracking/splitting you should consider leaving the wax on the end-grain.
