My grandma recently passed away (she was 97 and broke her hip) so I made a key chain with the wood from the tree with a swing that was in the front yard. All the kids grandkids and great grand kids would be pushed by her and their mom and dad in that swing. So it has a lot of fun memories.
I engraved it using her hand writing that she would always close her letters. "Love you very very much Grandma Wilson"
A key chain was given to each grand child and a pen with the same wood for her 3 living children (I don't have a photo of those).
It was neat to have given these at the funeral.

Very nice thing to do and I am sure well cherished by all. Project with a meaning always is the toughest to make.
