I would get one rated for what you need. PRV's should work perfect and if the don't they can be dangerous.
 
Mine is spring loaded, you adjust a nut to suit the pressure you want it to release at.

Looked closer and peeled the paint (used pot) off the valve and its adjustable..

My pot is rated for 50lb.. so I want to use 40lb as a safe working pressure? Would I set the release valve for about 50 or so?

Curtis, what is the lowest pressure that Alumilite will work with?

35 or so is good for straight Alumilite. If you plan to do "Worthless Wood" casting, I always recommend as high as you can go.

OK, I gotta say it: That would be five pounds BEFORE the pot blows apart, wouldn't it, Curtis??? So, when your pot blows up, you'll know the exactly correct pressure!!!
