Refill Issues

I just had an interesting experience with a Beg Ben. The refill was too long for the pen. I had to trim it down to fit. Tried different parts ect. Anyone else run in to this?

When you trimmed the barrels, did you cut down some of the brass tubes? They tube length is critical to that kit.

Yup. You prob trimmed the lower barrel too much.

I don't know. It was of a lot. Something to consider. It was a bummer though, nice piece of cedar.

If it was a nice piece consider it a bonus that you now have a nice carry pen for yourself.

Can you post a picture of the pen and of the refill after you modified it? That might help someone here be able to give you a good answer. Until then, I wonder with those above if you trimmed the lower barrel too much or if you swapped tube locations and used the shorter tube for the lower portion instead of the upper?

Maybe you can trim a little off the blank leaving some extra tube. Then segment a piece of something on the end with a short piece of tube and then retrim it to the right length.
Just a thought.
