Over the years I have always been on the lookout for recycled wood for my projects. I spotted an old maple stump in one of our Parks so I cut a piece off and made 2 projects out of it. The first was a table using a Yamaha Pacifica electric guitar shape that my son owns. I laminated it with english elm that came down due to root rot. Neck legs were spalted maple, and curly maple upright. All shapes were cut on a band saw and used a home depot table belt sander to refine the shape I wanted in the guitar body and neck shaped feet. Wet sanded to 1200 grit with tung oil.
Thanks for Looking

That is really cool! It always amazes me what treasures we have lying all around us. I'm glad that beautiful piece didn't go to waste. Excellent work, and very original!

Recycled Stump , Project 2

Thanks for all the likes and comments on the guitar table, much appreciated. The second project I made from the stump was more challenging. I had my son's electric guitar dismantled by his instructor, and I made a new one from the other piece from the Maple stump. The pic guards and rear covers are English Elm. I reused the old Yamaha Pacifica Neck and attached it to the new body, works and sounds great. Below are the results from start to finish.
Thanks for looking.
