I had a triple bypass on April 25th and spent 6 days in the hospital. I am now recuperating at home! My problems began last month when i tried to get medical clearance for back surgery and a stress test showed that I had blockage in 3 arteries of over 90%. The thing I hate worse is that a week before the surgery my new Grizzly G4003G Gunsmith lathe arrived and I have yet to use it!!

I went through that 15 years ago, the not doing anything for a bit afterwards about drove me nuts. Take it easy and get well.

Wow what a bummer, well at least they caught it before anything worse happened. Good luck with your recovery. I got a feeling the Grizzly will be spinning soon. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope you get better some soon. So you can try out that new lathe. My wife has to have a heart valve replace June 1st and maybe by pass.

My gosh. Six weeks and then out into the world again?? Best of Health to you. Take care, mend well and let's get that lathe going. Remember, if it isn't where you want it ASK FOR HELP moving it.

Had mine back in 2000. Just do what the docs say, and definitely squeeze a pillow when you sneeze or cough! :)

But each week you will feel better and better.

I hope you get better real soon! Then you still need to deal with the back, right? It sounds like a long year for you!

Scott.

Robert,
You'll have plenty for the lathe. Do what the Doc says and take it easy for awhile. I know your pain of waiting! My gut was ripped (cut) from one side to the other, 40 staples. Had a kidney transplant 7-1/2 year ago and was bedridden for way too long. Couldn't go to the job, who cares about that (?), for four months! Be careful!

A bit of advice....

If you have the opportunity for a structured "cardiac rehab" program TAKE IT! I had 4 by-passes in October, 2009 and did 30 days of cardiac rehab in December 09, before insurance ran out. Best thing I did. You are able to find out how much you can do under controlled conditions and supervision.

The lathe will be there when you're ready!

Good luck and walk everyday, twice a day, as far as you can!

Thanks to everyone for all the advice. I plan on taking the cardio rehab when I'm able to. As for as my pending back procedure (no 7) I'm not even thinking about that for now.
