I found by changing the position of two power tools, table saw and chop saw, I have more room plus easier to mount grinder. I had been pulling out the TS and placing the grinder on it. I am going to make a base for the TD rails and mount the grinder on it. Take a couple of minutes to set up but works. Photos when done.

Isnt' it funny how we get dug in to how we are set up and then when something challenges us to make a change and we are like, Hey, why didn't I think of this sooner, LOL!!

I've lost track of how many "This is the perfect setup" for my shop that I've went through. My wife just walks past and laughs each time I set off to change the 'perfect' layout yet again!

What always amazes me in this process is how many 'why didn't I think of this before' moments usually occur. Glad to see it also happens to others!

Got the photo. Note the extra room on the left. I had a time figuring out how to mount the countertop piece to the saw rails. After much cogitation, I used two F clamps. Further inspection showed that removing the pad off the clamp would fit in the slot on the bottom of the rail! I can roll it out and have the grinder just a few feet away. Now to make a sawing cradle for the logs I have had for decades. Fortunately, the shop is in the basement and has heat and A/C....so it should be dry.

Mike, thanks. Taking a break now. Just finished mowing the yard...almost an acre. Checked the weather to see if there were any frost warnings. Back to the shop tomorrow. Building a sawing rack as I have lots of wood that needs to be cut down and turned.
Edit and tip: I had mentioned I removed the pads on the F clamps. I keep amber pill bottles for such things- put a label on a Post-It note in the bottle to describe the contents. I have bottles with screws, parts and don't have clue what they are for!

I too use pill bottles for storing all kinds of things. I have several containing stuff I have no idea where it came from. I use different Rubbermaid and other storage containers. Some are 1 gallon ice cream containers. They hold all manner of things and you can easily write on them with a Sharpie. I have a few hand saws, but avoid using them if I can. Living here in the NM desert, we try to save water when possible. We went from about 2000 sq ft of grass to about 1000 and then to none. We have about 1/3 acre and no grass to mow.

Mike, my parents lived in Florida. A fellow had all his grass removed and replaced with pea gravel. A few shrubs and flowers around the house were the only plants.
