Hi all,

I am ready to buy a Beall collet system.

As others have done I wanted to buy the chuck from Charles Martin of "Wood Chips". His website shows them. I have emailed him about two weeks ago and have not heard anything. I have called the phone number that is listed on his site (513) 921-3400 but I get a message saying that the number is not currently in service.

I planned on buying a set of collets from 800wat on Ebay but I have heard that it can take a while before you get them.

Have any of you bought your collet system as a complete kit from one vendor? How much did you pay and were you happy with the service?

John,

There is a seller on Ebay that goes by "800watt" and they sell all kinds of collets including the ER32 design that is used in the Beall. I am not having any luck on the woodchips website ordering or contacting Charles Martin. [:(]

I got my Beall 5 collet chuck set from Hartville Tool in the spring when they had a big sale going. $127 for the set. Wood Chips says its $138 but when I try to add to Cart, I get a fatal error has ocurred.

Hello, but I just noticed in my new Woodcraft cat. they have a new collet chuck that comes with like 8 collets for 7$70-80 I think it is $80 but thats better then $140. Just trying to save you some money maybe this collet will do what you need. Good Luck, LandfillLumber

IMHO I would forget that you ever saw the WC collet chuck it is not a very desirable one. Everyone on here steered me away from that unit also a co-worker at WC said NOT to get it that he had[:(] and he regrets it.

I was in the same boat as you gmcnut I ended up buying the Chuck and a 1/4" collet from CSUSA I got tired of waiting. I also bought a set of I think 11 collets from Little Machine Shop for around $100.

I got one of the last Beall collet chucks from WoodChips before he had site problems. I also got the full set of ER32 collets from 800watts on ebay, and received them in one week. Overall, very happy with the savings and with the timely receipt of the goods. I know this doesn't help you out, but wanted to relay a positive transaction with 800watts.

I bought a set of collets from 800watt on eBay and they arrived in about a week; but there have been enough posts about this guy that you must be prepared for the possibility of slow shipping.....like 30 days. And you will not get any responses to your email inquiries.

Price and quality are good.....11 ER32 collets in 1/16" increments for $50; but if time is an issue, you might want to pay more for collets from a more reliable source.
