I have been on a razor kick getting ready for the Christmas rush. 2 weeks ago I finished off 12 handles out of wood and acrylic. This past weekend I worked on sets and I have to give a special thanks to Marla for the feather blanks and Dave Bell for the wood/acrylic blanks. I have 3 more safety razors to finish off as soon as I get back home and can get some casting figured out. Thanks for looking.

I'm getting ready to start a razor but I have a question. What do you do about water? Is it a concern? I wanted to turn a wood one but that seems like I am asking for trouble - do you do something special to protect it? I had planned to use CA but heard somewhere that CA was sensitive to moisture? Any help would be appreciated!

I am going to post this question in a new thread - don't want to high jack this one!

I seal both ends with CA and put on several coats of CA. Water will ruin your finish if it gets on the blank before applying CA but once everything is sealed it is very protective. If you damage the finish which will allow water to penetrate then you might have problems as well.

Thanks Nic.
