Rambutan on Diamond Knurl

Greetings from Nebraska.

This morning I finished up this Antique Copper Diamond Knurl from Exotic Blanks dressed in some Rambutan Burl from Laos that I stabilized with Cactus Juice. I punched out the factory cabochon and replaced it with one turned from a scrap piece of the Rambutan blank. It is finished with my standard regimen of 4 coats of thin and 8 coats of medium CA then wet sanded through the MicroMesh grits. No additional buffing or polishing was done following the MicroMesh.

Rambutan is an Asian fruit tree that is a close relative to the lychee. The tree isn't harvested for lumber unless it has stopped producing or is somehow damaged. Then the wood is only harvested for a niche, specialty market. - Dave
