Finally with not precipitation since 12/7/2013 it has started to rain we need a lot more than this storm will bring we could probably use the 40 day and 40 nights with out to much problem Really bad for you in the south Saw the stuff from Atlanta we could use that up in the mountains were it belongs. We just go told we can get rid of our $1500 a year flood insurance as of 5/14/2014 as the levees and flood wall on the creeks have been brought up the 100 year protection. I will keep the preferred Risk Policy for $400 though as it is good coverage for every thing we have.

I think our rain is going to blow over. This is pretty wicked right now. Super dry and winds this bad make it super dusty and hard to breathe.

Tom...certainly feel for you! California has had numerous droughts over the years but this is by FAR the worse one that I can remember! We have many friends and relatives that still live in California and we will continue to keep all of you in our prayers! Regrettably, it was one of the many reasons we left California after growing up there and finally retiring from there... Toooo many people, not enough water and a populace that refuses to build more water resevoirs and conserve water. I'd say move to Washington, but we too are having our own issues with lack of water and a populace that believes Mother Nature will solve all our water problems...

Smart! a bit of insurance is good... A time ago my business flooded - 60K, but I had FEMA flood coverage for a 500 yr occurance... Who would have thunk!

We got .16 of an inch and maybe a foot of snow in the Sierras they might get more tonight. Forecast for next mid to high 60's Wish it would have waited until Saturday then we could have at least set the record for on January on record with no rain or snow. My son works in Construction went to work this morning building an overpass saw his company truck this afternoon my Toyota pick up was dirtier his work boot had a little mud.
