I listen to the radio every day. Without fail.
I usually listen to the local news station, but on the
weekends, I listen to rock & roll mostly.

Our local RNR station usually plays wimpy bubble gum
RNR during the week, so I don't bother until the weekends.
Then, they break out the good stuff.

They used to play entire albums. I'd record them for free.
Back then it was a cheap way to get albums.

It was tough to take today when I found out my favorite
station is now called the classic rock station.

Next thing you know, it'll be called the oldies station.

Actually i don't think you will have to worry. Oldies and Classic Rock are terms used to describe genre's instead of just how old the music is. So for now at least, Classic Rock will just be added to by Rock that gets a little mature let's say and the oldies will remain the old classic oldies. Hope that helps.

We had a station here the played 40,50.60's music and few years ago it all went away, The DJ I think retired now can't find any music on the radio I like listen too. Got Sirius and that is good in both cars thinking of getting the WifI version for home.

I have the XM MyFi which is a portable that can work in your pocket with headphones (and a funky little antenna that clips to your clothes or hat) in the car in a car adapter, or at home with a home adapter. I got mine when it first came out and took the plunge and bought the lifetime package. That was about ten years ago, and I still have free XM radio.

I listen to the radio a lot too, though mostly for their radio plays, especially the SF ones. For my music I find myself using YouTube more and more, recently buying a couple of CD's by Jon Lord, the keyboard player from Deep Purple who forged himself a solo career after 30 years. I have an old battered laptop that makes an ideal CD / DVD and online player! There are several hundred online radio stations though, many of them serving niche genres, which is an added bonus.

Being a Classical Music fan, (composer, and musician) I'm out in the cold as there are no stations within range. So it's CD's copied to playlists on computer or nothing.

We have a 200 disk changer full of classical CDs. Put it on random, and it will play for weeks! We have it hooked up to our surround sound system. We also listen to a lot of the classical "stations" on Amazon TV, and the XM classical station There used to be two classical stations on XM but one of them seems to have gone away. I also like the big band stuff. (We are cable cutters. Don't miss the cable tv one bit! I have Hulu plus (without commercials) and Amazon prime, and a good RCA local antenna. It knocked $101 a month off my cox bill. I just have their fast internet and basic phone now.)

Heck I'd love a Classic station. What is with these guys. Do they not know that there is a seniors market out there? We spend money too (once in a while) so their supporters should consider this tremendous baby boomer market. This'll get you. I watch Charles Osgood on Sunday morning (one of my favorite programs) and he always closes by saying "i'll see you on the radio". I have tried everything my wood working mind can think of to find him on any radio but have been unsuccessful. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could instruct me how to fInd this guy "ON THE RADIO". i am not the sharpest took in the shed, but there must be a way.
