I just got a solid $65 offer on a Gold T/N and Chrome Majestic Squire dressed in pheasant feathers that I had listed on Etsy for $90.

I thought it was strange that someone was trying to get me to drop my price so much, then I saw it was from Michael Mulne from PENZRUS.

Wasn't there some sort of controversy about this guy, or the company a few months ago? Maybe some shady dealings or something like that? Something just doesn't feel right. Either way, I'm not dropping my price, unless you guys think I'm charging too much.

I appreciate any help/information you can give me.

He bought two of my pens outright and I gave him $20 off a second pen that started at $210 all through ETSY. My prices are approx 3 to 4 times the cost of blank and pen components. I feel that my prices are fair and him asking for a 10% discount was not out of line.

Just my experience.

10% discount is not abnormal. I always give that discount to military (active, retired, or separated), Cops and Firemen. When he asks for 40% while only buying 2-3 pens? That is were the lines are crossed.

I think people have the "right" to ask for a discount, or any amount they desire. However if you reject that offer they should not have the right to bash you because of your prices.

He offered to buy a bullet/acrylic pen from me this weekend off Etsy, $10 less than I had it listed for. I didn't see any big deal in it, so I thought "what the heck," it's $40 I didn't have. I shipped it this AM.

In my opinion, we're all in this together -- a sale is a sale sometimes!

That may be true of the first few encounters with the "gentleman". However when you get the dozens of emails a week with unfounded accusations, threats of legal action, personal attacks, apologies, excuses for bad behaviour, a multitude of contradicting and conflicting stories........:bulgy-eyes: :bulgy-eyes: :bulgy-eyes:. Then "a sale is not a sale sometimes", it's the invitation for trouble and it won't be worth it. :curse::beat-up:
