I have a client who wants one of the pens I have in stock but wants it engraved. I have not had anything engraved and am wondering on the process. The pen is Koa wood with a CA finish.
Should I remove the CA finish to have the pen engraved or is it acceptable for the engraver to engrave through the CA?
If the latter option, would it then be best to go back and add more CA to make it all flush/smooth or leave it so they can feel the edges of the engraving?
