My Pen Pro just arrived (Thanks Bear Tooth Woods), got the handle on and the glue drying.

Now, there are 2 cutters...R2 and R4

Which is better for pen turning?

Thanks

I'll take the opposite view. I turn exclusively with the R4 for my pens. Recommend you experiment with both, and get the RPM up above 3000. Also, DON'T use the entire face of the cutter. Use at most 1/8 inch of the left hand corner, working right to left, and be sure to let the tool do the work. No need to bear down.

The R2, you use the ends and then the center to put the finlal touch on it and i can use 400 grit sand paper after that on wood, the R4 is good for antlers , it really is the only tool i use, have fun

Well, I didn't get a chance to use it today, but I've got a blank drying now (just drilled and reverse painted it) so hopefully tomorrow.
I'll start with the R2 and see how that goes, and will probably try the R4 just to compare.

Thanks to all for the input.
