I have a Jet 1014 mini lathe and as I was turning there was a "pop" and smoke coming from the motor.   I took the cover off to discover the capacitor had blown. 
Is this likely just a problem with the capacitor, or is there something else I should be looking for that caused the capacitor to fail? I haven't noticed anything else out of the ordinary, maybe a little more heat on the motor and headstock when I turn, but I'm not sure how hot they are expected to get as I am turning.
