I have been asked to make a soap mold for a friend of mine. My research show that you should use Baltic birch for the mold. However my local hardwood store only sells Arctic birch. Does anyone know the difference or is it just a different name for the same thing? I googled it but it didn't really come up with anything.

Thanks:rolleyes:

Basically the same just different area it comes from. There is Russian, Finnish, Baltic, Siberian white birch plywood. Colors maybe a tad different.

... and by strange coincidence, I got an email from Woodcraft this morning saying they have a sale on Baltic birch :)
