From recent threads I have noted that certain quality issues seem to be getting more frequent. i.e. Kits of the same name from the same seller with parts that are not interchangeable.

I am at a loss to explain what is happening. Some have suggested the manufacturers are trying to increase sales of certain parts - but that dog don't hunt. Nobody increases their sales to me (nor would I think to anyone else) by suprises that make our products less marketable. Some suggest, they do it to same money - but that dog don't hunt either. The changes I've seen have shown nothing that would reduce manufacturing costs.

So what is behind this? There seem to be more than one manufacturer in more than one country involved.

I know if I send a kit to a manufacturer and say make this kit for me, I expect every part on their kits to be interchangeable with every part on the kit I send them including all of the threaded parts. They don't gain a new customer by changing anything without discussing it with me BEFORE the go ahead with the change.

I have scaled back and may eliminate completely, purchases from one manufacturer because of similar issues - so they are not making friends doing this sort of thing.

I wonder why it is happening and what we can do about it.

No idea why, but you're on the right track by dropping the offender. Seems like the only way we can make a point anymore is by letting our money talk for us. What a shame it's come to this.

Nice explanation.

I don't envy vendors! If I have a problem with 1-2 kits... You folks have problems with 100-200 kits and 10-20-50 customers (possibly).

Thanks for the post though.
