I decorated a Zen barrel of pecan wood using the lathe indexing and a platform on the banjo. I marked 1/8" beads with a beading tool then burned the grooves with the pyro pen. After that I did the cross mark every third space along the barrel stepping it over every index until complete. Wiped it with Minwax Gunstock stain and rubbed it in to bring up some texture in the grain the a couple of coats of Deft lacquer.
