From some of your comments, I gather that the clue "Orchestra members, for short" was causing some of you a bit of trouble:


Orchestra members = woodwinds

Short for woodwinds = WOODS

What's another tree-related word for WOODS???


a FOREST, of course


as in the previous crosswords, there were a couple of words in this one where the answer for the clue was itself another clue

I finally got it by finding a 1977 New York Times crossword which used the same clue for the word "woods" That lead me to guess the correct word. Quite a stretch, especially since most orchestra instruments are strings not woodwinds. But at least there was precedence!

Sky = CANOPY

Nothing tricky about this one except that it's a little obscure. I wanted to use the word CANOPY in the puzzle but I had a hard time coming up with a clue that wasn't too obvious, but still a good fit.

Glad you had a good time - I enjoyed hosting them.
