Have been wanting to try this for a while, finally got it done. I do not have a lot of experience with a bandsaw so the pattern is not quite uniform.

Came out really nicely in my eyes. Like the color combo as well.

I love this look. I have tried a couple with padauk and holly. I have a couple of questions. The biggest problem I'm running into is the finishing. The colors are wonderful right up until I have to sand.. then the red runs into the white. How did you finish this and how did you avoid this problem. Thank you!! great work.

Sorry I have not replied sooner. I haven't been on in a while. I sanded up to 600 grit. Then used a ca finish. As far as your particular problem, I don't really know how to help. I am a pretty new turner and have not encountered this problem. Thanks for the comments, and sorry I don't have any advice.
