Purple Heart

I gave a friend part of a Box Elder tree yesterday and he brought me a 4"x4"x4ft long piece of purple heart for the tree. Its a beautiful piece of purpleheart and I wasn't expecting it. What would a piece like that worth?? It is nice. It will be used but I was just wondering the value. I've not seen purpleheart that big before.

PSI purple heart is $8.20 for a 2"x2"x12". I think it would take 16 of those to make your piece, but I'm almost as good at math as I am rocket science.

That board @ 5.3 BDFT with the prices I can get it at aroud here = about $60 You are lucky. It is rare that I see any Purple Heart for sale 4" thick

I'd bet it would retail for $100 or so. 4" spindles are rare in PH so the price goes up even higher than the normal bf amount.
