Here is one of those off the wall questions. For a long time I have been eating as a snack David's salted and roasted full pumpkin seeds. Well I need to curb the salt intake so I am looking for a good quality tasting low salt roasted in the shell pumpkin seed. I can not find any from David so need to find a new brand. Any suggestions out there?? Looked through Amazon and the reviews are frightening. Most say they taste like cardboard and are too small. I tried nonsalted ones and hate them. Tried sea salt and those too do not taste good. Help.

Sea salt, rock salt etc are all common salts ( sodium chloride, nacl)and not good for high blood pressure. Potassium chloride, the "light" version sold at healthy stuff shops is better but still you cannot overdo it especially if you are on diuretics ( again not all diuretics are the same). The only healthy and viable approach is a different spice/ flavouring i.e. i ve tried lemon sprinkled pistachios and they were great; also consider buying the seeds that you like and roast/prepare em yourself. Seeds and nuts however are great foodstuffs full of healthy fats, fiber, metals you name it; can low your cholesterol too if eaten raw.cheers

I have that same issue. Low salt diet for 50 years. I like spicy foods. So we took recipes for taco seasoning mixes, ranch dressing mixes, Italian seasoning etc.. Combined the individual seasonings we liked and created a mix. Mostly chili powder oregano, pepper, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, and others. By trial and error came up with measurements.
Low salt does not mean NO Salt, just means Low Salt.

A double whammy on myself, Agent Orange gave Type2 Diabetes. So snacks have to be diabetic friendly. Also have to like the snack. Seasoning is important to liking the snack. We had a friend that introduced us to seasoned garbanzo beans. They tasted okay, but with more flavor of chili powder and paprika were better. Here is one idea for a recipe. Just change the seasoning. https://www.loveandlemons.com/roasted-chickpeas/

You can do this roasting also with sunflower seeds, peanuts, cooked pinto beans, etc..

Make your own and instead of salt use ranch seasoning or something else. They're easy to make. Just kinda sucks going through all the pumpkin guts getting them all and cleaning them.
