PSI Rosewood cases

I bought some pen cases from PSI made from rosewood and I was surprised on the quality of the product for how cheap it was. I know if I tried to make one I would be spending more money on the wood than what PSI sells it for. Does anyone know why they are so cheap?

Mostly because they're made in China or Taiwan I believe. But you're right, they're pretty nice boxes.

There was a thread a while back where it was brought up that they were redheart with a rosewood finish, not actually rosewood.

That would account for a lot of the price difference, if true.

I cannot speak for the veracity of that statement, but it was attributed to PSI customer service.
