Greetings from Nebraska.

I have a PSI Rollester starter set and like the size (and price) of the pens. My only concern is the snap on cap. I have also been looking at the PSI Magnetic Vertex, but have never handled one to decide if it is worth the price to have a slightly larger body and the magnetic cap.

The material on the Vertex is a bit thin, but with that being said the design of the end pieces are forgiving because of the "roll" to them. The magnetic cap is one of the best sellers for me. Extremely satisfying "tick" when the cap goes on. Only thing you need to look out for is making sure you have the ends screwed in before you press it together to double check the flat spots line up. If that makes sense.

I have never made a Rollester, I have made a couple of the magnetic Vertex pens. This is purely a subjective thing, but I didn't care for how the pen fit in my hand. The magnetic cap worked very well and I sold the ones I made with I believe the magnetic feature being the reason they sold. I like the feel of the magnetic executive better. I realize, you didn't ask about that one though.

I have found that some of the Rollester caps sit crooked on the pen. This issue seems hit and miss (poor quality control?), but does get progressively worse with use (see my post and the linked thread here: https://www.penturners.org/threads/rollester-pen.166704/post-2090766 ). I have made 1 vertex magnetic cap, and it is OK, but I agree with @elyk864 . I prefer the Zen, although it is a little pricey. There is also a fancier version called the Kathina, and I thought there was a slim version but I can't find it now.

Haven't made or used a vertex, but the rollesters I made sold pretty quickly. I think they are um, less attractive, but they write well. Just my opinion.

I've made both and like both. I've made the Vertex in both rollerball and fountain. No problems with either. I like the magnetic Vertex a little more.
