After seeing my first fountain pen the other day my son messaged me saying 'I want one'. I said he could have one if he came over and made it himself 🤣
Anyway he took the challenge, came over today and made his first fountain pen. I'm incredibly proud of him and his first fountain pen and only his second pen turned 😀
Least I know where my turning stuff is headed when I go to glory! 🤣😇

Good ot have the kidks turning a pen or two. One grandson turned two pens for h is parents. The one for his father was the WC wrench kit as Dad is an ME. He picked arbor vita as the blank. Like drilling tool steel.😬 Turned good, though. Guy at WC mentioned arbor vita was used for bearing in submarines. I can see why.

He did a really nice job on that pen.

My introduction to pen turning came when my dad invited me to his shop to turn one for myself. It was a slimline turned about 35 years ago!

I still have that purple heart pen, but I've since turned others which have proven more meaningful.

I inherited his equipment when he passed 26 years ago. As of today I have outlived him!

That's brilliant Steve! I really want to encourage him to find a hobby as he works so hard just providing for his young family and being a dad!
