Price of blanks

I was just wondering if you people thought $2.00 was a good price for a
stabilized pen blank of Buckey Burl????

Depends on how it is stabilized. I just bought some "stabilized" spalted Maple on eBay from a seller who told me she used some very expensive stuff to stabilize it and that it takes a week to do. The blanks smelled like kerosene and when I sand them I get this dark brown gunk on the sandpaper. The blanks are fairly punky and whatever she uses is worthless. I would have been better off getting them unstabilized. First and last purchase from that person.

If they are properly stabilized and pretty burl, that would be a give-a-way price.

If they are professionally stabilized it costs nearly that much per blank to have them stabilized. How they are stabilized is definately key.
