Premium Classic Rollerball - Need Help

I am making my first Premium Classic Rollerball pen kit from Woodturningz. I am confused on whether the little rubber O rings go on the INSIDE or OUTSIDE threads of the couplers. The words on the instruction seem to indicate inside, but the diagram seems to indicate outside.

Seems that should go on the outside, but they will have to stretch a little bit to do that, but I don't see how they fit on the inside either? Please help me get this right. Thanks.

They go on the outside of the male threads. Because both the female threads in the cap and male threads on the barrel are metal they don't stay tight very well and the o-rings help keep the cap attached.

Thanks for your quick response. Now I can go finish it if I can figure out how to stretch it on there.

I don`t use them, especially for rollerballs. Carl
