Hello. Just thought I'd share a picture of a fly rod reel seat I have recently finished. It's made with a small piece of 55 million year old mummified wood recovered from a diamond bearing volcanic orebody in northern Canada. I was able to get plenty of advice from the folks on the casting and stabilization forum to get it to a point I could work it.
I'm happy with the finish, didn't want the seat glossy. I finished the parts on the grip with CA and left the seat natural.
