I was just wondering who is your preferred resource/supplier for PR or Alum?? Buy it locally or order it?

I can't answer for Alum(ilite) but for polyester resin I use four sources.

http://www.mrfiberglass.com I buy here most of the time

http://www.compositesone.com There is a store in the DAllas-Ft. Worth area and I pick it up on ocassion...5 gallon minimum

http://www.uscomposites.com I buy from this company also and they will sell in 1 gallon amounts

http://www.artstuf.com aka Douglas and Sturgess Art supply

Not sure about the Mr fiberglass link. The url takes you to a page that says he died last Tuesday, and a quick Google of his name brings up this story:

Greg, if you just want to start playing around and don't want to wait or buy a lot, Michael's has 40-50% off coupons constantly (either in the paper or online) and no shipping. You get it for around 9 bucks a quart, and they have pearl-x pigments too that will get you started. They accept multiple coupons so print a bunch!

I'm going to start getting it in quantity once I figure this out a bit. I have a Plastics dealer in town, you may want to check local too. Shipping can be silly.

I appreciated you giving me the information!!! You certainly did NOT expect the distributor here to be different. Fortunately, I nailed down this issue BEFORE I placed the order. Had quite a debate with them - they basically said the resin is MADE near Texas, so your price may vary!!!!

I get 5 gal at a time from the same place as Roy. But, we pick it up ourselves from their warehouse...we do not have it shipped.

Wow, I received 5 gallon PR 41 from David about two weeks ago. We spoke for a good 15 mins or so on the phone talking about fishing spots off the York River. Its too bad his life ended this way.
